FM RADIO
INTRODUCTION
Jamii fm radio has been established as part of
implementation of planned under Mtukwao Participatory Media Project in Lindi
and Mtwara Regions. The project was
launched in February 2010 after support was granted by the Ministry of foreign
Affairs of Finland for 3 years cooperation between Mtukwao Media and Vikes
Foundation for Media, Communication and Development of Finland. The project
aimed to raise discussion about issues that are important to the people In
rural communities in the two regions. Jamii fm radio is community radio as such
it is designed to be operated in the community, for the community about the
community and the community.
Jamii
Fm Radio intends to use medium as tool for enhancing communication and exchange ideas, information
and knowledge for social change and sustainable development to its target
audience. Through Jamii Fm Radio, rural
communities neighboring the Station would be able to express themselves and
make their voice heard.
VISION OF
JAMII FM RADIO
The vision of Jamii Fm Radio is to see the community of
Lindi and Mtwara regions particularly from rural areas have access to
information and increased capacity to play a meaningful role for their own
development through media.
MISSION OF JAMII
FM RADIO
The mission of Jamii FN Community Radio is enable local
communities to use media as tool for enhancing participatory in order to
archive sustainable rural development. There for, Jamii Fm Radio Station shall:
-serve as an official avenue for the free flow of beneficial
information aimed at uplifting the plight of various sectors of the community.
The station shall open up possibilities for every one, especially, culturally,
politically and spiritually thus preparing each and every member of the
community to participate in decision making:
-strive to help create self reliant interactive community
and seek its development, fully harnessing locally available resources:
-be the catalyst for social. Moral and cultural development
and promote harmony among all community and sectors.
